Lots to Love

What a week!  Sorry I've been a bit MIA...I've missed popping on here!  Been feverishly preparing for the final  shoot for the Block of the Month series....sewing my little head off, but not a single block I can show you.  Poo!  All I can say is, I laid out all of the finished blocks on my living room floor today, and couldn't stop grinning!!!  I can't wait to share them all with you!

Know what else I can't wait to share with you?

Hehe.  I finally finished her little knitted pixie hat this week, and what better place to try it out than a cute sit on the pot?

Awwww, the hot pink band aid is taking it over the edge.  The whole thing is over the edge CUTE.

SO, um, what else?  Oh yeah, my guild rocks.  Have I said that before?  Thought I'd just say it again for emphasis, in case you forgot.  Thanks to tons of Swoon, a stash sale, giggles, and a huge basket of fried okra, this month was quite possibly our best meeting ever.

First of all, Audrey & Kari's swoon blocks have officially pushed me over the edge.  I WILL be joining in  the Swoon-Along this weekend at our quilting retreat....yes, retreat.  As in 3 days, no kids, and 24/7 to sew, sew, sew with the cutest gang of non-violent, fabric addicted crazies ever.  I'm beyond pumped.

Hello!  Stephanie's orange & grey quilt is unbelievable!  I feel like she brings a quilt like this in every month....so stinking talented.  She's submitting this one to the Modern Guild's competition for quilts to be featured at their booth at Fall Market.  Go Steph!

No detail left undone...the back is emmaculate, and you can sorta see the swirly quilting here, which she did completely on her home sewing machine!  Unbelievable.

As if that weren't enough, there's more cuteness...a sweet little holiday quilt, and charm pack extravaganza completed as well.

Love it.  So much inspiration, and what a feeling of acheivement- each woman just glowed as she showed off her freshly bound treasure.  I'm hoping to bring a finished Swoon to next meeting!!!

I'll keep ya posted!

I can't wait to see your fun blocks! That hat (and sweet girl) are precious! I am Swooning too, but haven't been able to actually cut into my fabric because of a ton of other projects. Hopefully soon! Right now, it's my sewing dessert:).

Your girl is such a cutie! I'll be missing going to the retreat. Have a fantastic time!!! I saw your fabrics on your more recent post (but couldn't leave a comment? I'm feeling stupid.) That is going to be adorable.

These past few months doing the BOM have helped me tap into my creative side to create a quilt that keeps the 'fun' in functional! Really enjoy reading this blog and get even more inspired.

The last picture rocks my world! I just sewed my very 1st quilt with that line of fabric!!! I am IN LOVE with Moda's Bonnie and Camille Ruby fabric! Please tell your friend I love her quilt!! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks
Crystal

PS: I think I am kinda likin' the Swoon pattern. Might have to try it out myself.

Hi! I am enjoying your craftsy BOM! I have always wanted to quilt and wasn't sure how to do some of the more interesting techniques. Thanks for doing this class. I appreciate all the help and friendliness (i.e.: hand holding, as I would give up from frustration on my own). You make it easy to be successful. This class gives me a happy buzz.

I joined the Craftsy family last year and hadn't returned to the page for a few of months, when I did I saw the craftsy BOM. I simply love the blocks and have become an avid follower. Thanks you so much Amy! Your classes are easy to follow and I have had fantastic results. I choose to use Civil War prints and they look great. However I do like the colours you have chosen from the Boho free spirit range. I can't wait to do the English paper piecing. I am also looking forward to the finished quilt at the end of the year. It's just so exciting.

Crazy for quilting fan in Australia
