Hi, My Name is Amy…and I’m A Fabraholic

July 29, 2011 Leave a Comment

Not sure if it’s a Godsend or a disaster, but I must say I’m going joy crazy working at the bombest mod fabric shop in Denver. I find myself freaking out a little when lugging up stacks and stacks of fresh bolts to the sales floor…fabric that takes my breath away the moment we slice open the shipping box. What if a customer comes in tomorrow morning and snags the entire bolt for their wedding napkins??? It could happen. I know, I know, we have 15 whole yards of Alexander Henry’s latest slice of textile heaven, but how can I risk letting some goofus eat it all up to make their less-than-prolific king size duvet cover? I should get a yard before it’s gone. After all, I don’t have an employee discount for nothing. In fact, it would be downright tragic to let this woven masterpiece slip away when my healthy little discount is just hanging out, ready to work for me. Am I right or am I right?

A couple of shifts later and THESE luscious stacks are beaming at me from my shelf. Can’t help but smile at them. They’re going to be a stunning quilts SOMEDAY…someday soon! Seriously though, things are rolling around it my head like you wouldn’t believe! Must stop typing and START SEWING. I’ve got to keep up with my fabric addiction!

On the bright side, fabric’s not my only source of smiles. Stumbled upon a few zillion others this week as well.

First tomato of the season, and ever really. We gave Green Thumblina the honor of devouring it.

Homemade banana cream whoopie pies…cranked out a batch for a couple of special house guests. They were…dare I say it…breakfast appropriate? Like banana nut bread with cream cheese.

Poop catchers never looked so cute.

Last but not least, it’s summer. And summer wouldn’t be summer without pool parties & sleep-overs with friends we love.

Great week, so much to be thankful for…including way too much gorgeous fabric!
