I know, I know, it’s not binding time…I haven’t even shown you all the blocks yet! Well, we just finished an exciting final week of filming (yes, you’ll get a peek at my “you must be due any day” 6 month baby bump), and after having sewn several BOM quilts over the course of shooting, I’m finally binding one! I’m so pleased with how it turned out- literally took all my strength not to snap a quick pic of the entire thing to show you!
And of course, as I’m sitting in the armchair, binding away, a sweet little child nuzzles up to my feet, watching a movie, and unbenownst to me, lets a capless yellow highlighter bleed all over one of the blocks!!! Naturally, my husband discovered it an hour before I was supposed to bring this quilt to an event.
[Enter: sheer panic]
I poured cold water on it and the stain literally tripled and bled through to the backing and onto my ironing table…feverishly began blotting as I screamed to my husband to get on the computer and Google it.

Soap & water. Genius.
No time for a wash so I rubbed some detergent on it and quickly rinsed, which seemed to do the trick. Naturally, my kids helped wet the entire quilt, now 45 minutes before the event. We rang it out, set the drier to high with a couple of absorbant towels, and prayed.
Luckily, the party guests still adored my more wet than damp quilt! Such is life :)
