If You’re Happy & You Know It

Happy Monday!  I hope your week is off to a good start!  I’m in serious positive mode, after this past week of hairied internet woes and an explosion of unpacked suitcases, dirty laundry, and Christmas presents.  And when I say positive mode, I mean full on Pollyanna-singing-while-I-change-poopy-diapers-mode. :)

Top 10 Great Thing About Today:

  1. It’s 8:42AM and I’m dressed, like not in pajamas.  And showered no less.  This is nothing short of a miracle.
  2. The hubs is off work and we’re going to breakfast!  More coffee please!
  3. I finally seem to have gotten a fair amount of order going on in my inbox.  Still a solid list of emails to tend to, but at least they’re all sweet notes and friendly questions from lovely quilt friends!
  4. About to send February and March’s Sugar Blocks off to my faithful pattern testers, and I’m super excited about them!
  5. Not one, but two heaping pots of homemade vegetable soup bubbling on the stove…one for dinner, and one to freeze…yessssss.
  6. My lovable preschooler was out the door to school, on time no less, with show & tell and a healthy exciting lunch (mini cucumbers are always exciting!).
  7. I have two happy, healthy, smiley, giggly, squishy, sweet little baby boys to tickle my ears with soft coos when I start to feel stressed.
  8. More fabric from Mr. Postman!  This time is a bundle I curated for Sew Lux Fabrics with my little boys in mind…Sticks, Snails, and Puppy Dog Tails – from red chevrons to lovable elephants and cute kiddie doodles, it’s just plain happy.
  9. I’m making a list.  Any day that involves me making a list is a great day, because I LOVE LISTS!
  10. I’m going to be on American Patchwork & Quilting Radio today with my friend Pat Sloan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Yippee!!!

  1. Deb Farrell says:

Go Amy! Lovely to see how big the boys are now…they’re beautiful!

  2. Thank you for your HAPPY post! This is my first day back at work and needed a burst of happiness! I’m going to drink another cup of coffee and think Happy Thoughts!

  3. Wow you are busy and having a great start to the day as well as the week. I’ve been making progress organizing my craft area while my sewing machine is out for it’s annual service. I sure do miss it but I’m glad to be having the time to get more organized this year and I have a line of projects to do when it comes back and that does include making the January Sugar Block Club block as well as a couple of UFO’s. I do have to say that getting up and dressed early does make it seem like I get more done in the day. The boys are growing and so handsome.

  4. Oh Amy! Your little boys are so cute and healthy! What darlings! You are a good mommy!

  5. Amy will you be on radio TONIGHT?

    • Stitchery says:

Hi Dorathea! I suppose it depends on what time zone you’re in. It will be on at 4pm EST, and then available indefinitely after that- you can listen to all past shows via their website. :)

  6. patti krueger says:

I am amazed by all that you do. Your little boys must be very good little boys. They sure are cute little smiley bundles!

  7. Love your happy list. I’m glad to hear that you’re less stressed out now. The twins are gorgeous. I wish I was there to share that veggie soup.

  8. So glad to see you posting happiness again…didn’t care for your last post! LOl

  9. Sharon Blaylock says:

I love the picture of your twin boys they are beautiful. My niece had three older children when she had her twin boys three years ago last October. I moved in with her to help her so I know what you life is like. I really enjoyed taking your free Crafty BOM last year. I took the Quilting A Sampler from Leah Day and almost have the quilt finished. I am looking forward to this new class also. I too love sweet things, babies included.

  10. Patricia Weathers says:

Love seeing your smiling baby boys! My 32 year-old identical twin sons are and have always been best friends — so supportive and caring of each other. It’s a bond like no other. Mine even got the same Ph.D. degrees and work for the same company. They’re both married, but still see each other and spend time together every day.

  11. :) :) :) back at ya!!!

  12. Glad to read that today seems to be going better for you!! My list today is just as full, but I am hoping to add some sewing time to the end of it. I’m working on a new quilt and using tips I learned from your craftsy class. Can’t wait to start my BOM January block- just need the last of my fabric to arrive!!

  13. Definitely a happy Monday when you get to see those beautiful little faces!!! Thanks for sharing! You definitely made me smile!

  14. Oh– I opened your post after a series of back-to-back (nay, overlapping, if I’m honest) meetings and wondering when I’m going to be able to get to the fridge and grab some lunch to bring back to my desk… when the picture of your two laughing boys popped up. I laughed right along with ‘em.

    I needed that. Thank you!

  15. Deb Farner says:

Yeah!! I’m so happy to see you happy! Those little guys are growing fast! So cute! The Sew Lux fabric idea is GREAT! It is hard to find cute baby boy material! I will be sure to check out American Patchwork & Quilting Radio! Have a super week!!

  16. Oh, the squishy cuteness! Congrats on radio show-will try to catch it!

  17. Thanks, your inspiring day & twins photo inspires my day a little bit more….. Have a new pup in the house, drastically changing my days and quilting times…..

  18. Hi Amy

Firstly the boys are adorable, I can see both Nora and Charlotte in them both, haven’t they grown and look so well. Well done Mommy and Daddy x

Secondly so pleased and happy to see you all chirpy and happy.

Have a wonderful week and long may your joy continue

    K x

  19. The BOYS are beautiful! Glad to hear you’re having a GREAT day! Love ya, Sharo

  20. Jo Ann R. says:

    Hi Amy,
I was able to hear part of your talk on the American Patchwork Radio. You sounded a lot different than on the Craftsy BOM video. This is really great that you can connect with people all over the world. I didn’t realize that you have tester testing your upcoming blocks for future months. This is a great idea. The pdf file worked perfect by the way. Thanks a lot for all that you do to inspire follow quilters.
    Jo Ann from Iowa

  21. Heather Shore says:

O My those boys are growing so fast.
    They are so cute!!!

  22. Congratulations Amy! What a Happy Monday!! I will make time to listen to the podcast recording of your interview with Pat Sloan. Yay!!
I hope the week continues on this lovely note for you!

  23. Your contendtedness (is that even a word?) is infectious – I am smiling as I read your post and am pleased to ‘feel’ that you are in a much happier frame-of-mind than last week! Glad to hear all is going well, and those two wee boys are just delicious!! Enjoy your week.

  24. Aha, spelling was off – contentedness – that looks better (LOL!)

  25. Sandra Barnett says:

Love the twins they are so cute and growing so fast. Got my instructions do not worry or fret no need to email Have a great day and a good week

  26. Yay for a great start to the week! I won’t say I went back to work with a skip in my step, but I did go with a healthy breakfast and packed lunch :D

  27. Wow! You boys are growing so fast! Thank you so much for sharing with all of us! I, at least, feel like I am visiting when you let us!!! I am having trouble with the BOM this year and I think it is because I’m so lefthanded and watching the video gets me so confused that I got my very first set of blocks backwards. I guess if you could view them from the back it would be ok. Darn dyslexia and lefty brained. I enjoy the videos with you as they looked normal to me! lol…People are trying to help me but I will have to retrain the brain to think inside out and backwards! Thanks for being such a sharing person and working on your art with us. it is very appreciated!

  28. Isn’t it wonderful when things go RIGHT during the day?! I am so happy that your day went so well and may I say those two sweethearts are ADORABLE!! I am a list person as well. I feel so accomplished when I am able to cross something off my list. Maybe my list tomorrow should be…1) Get out of bed. 2) Have coffee. 3) QUILT ALL DAY 4) Repeat same tomorrow. Somehow I don’t think that is a list I can accomplish on a regular basis. Anyway, thank you again for another uplifting post! :)

  29. Those are a pair of healthy happy looking boys. There must be some very happy Grandparents. God bless you all

  30. Amy and the twins with a smile on their face – happyness is celebrating a comeback :-)
    Yours, Martina

  31. I’m a new subscriber and what a treat to see those two smiles in my inbox!! Thanks for sharing the boys (mine is now 9 and not nearly so cheerful in the a.m.) Glad to hear things are settling down- and looking forward to our BOM in 2013!!

  32. If you are happy and you know it…. Clap your hands and squeal with glee (me) or you – breathe a sigh of relief that I am not there to squeeze those gorgeous cheeks. Your boys look wonderful, so glad it is all working out and that they are happy. Truly made my day to see them.
Good luck with the rest of your day and I hope that this year proves to be as wonderful as today.

  33. Sarah Rothe says:

Your boys are so cute! They have grown so much and are all smiley and giggly. How old are they now?

  34. Heather Shore says:

Can we still join the Sugar block club?

  35. Oh the boys are growing so fast, they are so adorable. Thanks for sharing. Where do you find the time and energy to do all the stuff you’re doing? Have a wonderful week!

  36. Yay for happiness!! The boys look so big and healthy! Life is good:)

  37. Jodi Wyss says:

So glad the day is shinning!! Precious boys!!

  38. I always look forward to your posts, and believe it or not, this is the first time I have written a reply. Why? I don’t know, but maybe because you sounded so dog-gone perky! Your boys are the most adorable little things and I envy you being able to just snuggle them when you get in a “mood.” You have inspired me to try different approaches to my quilting projects, and I thank you for that. I have used your tutorials and have followed your Craftsy BOM club religiously. I am excited about the Sugar Block Club and am looking for fabrics now so I can do a sampler quilt. Thanks for just being you! This quilter in Florida appreciates you lots…

  39. The boys look great! They have grown so much and look so happy and healthy. Makes me wish my twinkies were babies again.

  40. Amy
So glad to see such a happy Monday. The boys are so cute. My Monday went well and Tuesday too ya. I hope Wednesday to alter the waists on 8 men’s suit pants and make a guilt block.

  41. So glad to hear things are going well, I was sad to see your last post! Your boys are just gorgeous. And now I need to run over and sign up for your BOM, can’t resist any longer. :)

  42. Absolutely precious! Monthly pics please!

You’re a busy girl. This lady changed my life (since you like lists – you’ll flourish here). http://www.flylady.net It’s free and …and..well, if you adore and/or need organization, start small and next thing you know, you’ll be flying! I haven’t spent a Saturday cleaning my house or doing laundry in years. Enjoy!

  43. Brenda Caplette says:

What a difference a week makes! Glad that it is a brighter time for you. Looking at those two smiling faces takes me back to when my boys were that little. Lots more work but would do it all again in a heartbeat! You are going through a busy time in your young life, but don’t miss a moment of it as it can’t be gotten back. Give all the munchkins a big squeeze for me as mine are “teens” now and are off limits to “squeezes”. Have a terrific day!

  44. Eres una mujer 10, los bebés están preciosos.

  45. Stephanie says:

Your boys are so adorable! They’re just three weeks older than my little girl. I don’t know how you handle two..this one here has me running from sun up to sun down and then some times beyond that!

  46. Wonderful pics of your happy twins, just signed up to Craftsy from Normandy France and realise we have more in common than our love of quilting, I had 4 children in quick time, twins a 2 and 4 year old all boys, it was a magical time and I loved every minute, but that was many years ago they are now 23, 21 and 19 all fine young men and make me very proud. Lots of love and luck for your beautiful family and I will enjoy following your quilting and family stories
    Thank you X

  47. Damaris Rempel says:
