I hope you all are enjoying July’s Sugar Block! This month’s block is an extra scoop of sweetness.
We do love us some frozen treats in this house, so we all agreed that ice cream cones would be featured in this month’s block. (I’ll have you know that all Sugar Blocks must meet the approval of a very serious quilt block choosing committee!)
If you haven’t had a chance yet, don’t forget to upload your block to the Flickr group. It’s so much fun to pop over and see what folks are doing with the blocks- so many unique interpretations!
We’re now over halfway through the year- 7 blocks so far- and the mix is getting more and more colorful.
What’s been your favorite so far? I have a hard time choosing. More than anything, I think I just love the way the blocks are looking together- so starry and angled and symmetrical (Yes, yes, I love symmetrical quilt blocks! Call me traditional, and I won’t argue.)
If you haven’t joined the club yet, it’s not too late! New members may join anytime, and I’ll simply give you access to patterns for all the blocks we’ve covered so far. The cost is just $7.95 and you’ll receive 12 classically inspired quilt block patterns via email, including clear step-by-step instructions, photos, and diagrams. It’s always exciting to see what the new block will be on the 1st of each month!
Another fun perk of the Sugar Block Club is the recipes- a favorite sweet treat recipe each month, from my recipe box to yours. This is most certainly my family’s favorite part of the club, because I bake up the featured dessert each month, to photograph of course. No complaints from the peanut gallery! This month was one of all-time summer favorites- berry cobbler.
So much sweetness this month, I feel like I need to go brush my teeth! (and perhaps eat a salad!) It’s such an honor to share it with you- hope you are enjoying the year as much as I am! :)
