I was almost 2 weeks behind in my We Can Do It Sampler Series, but finally caught back up thanks to a late night of Law & Order re-runs last night. I’m fairly happy with the results, however sleepy.
Destructo monkey nearly switched off power to my computer mid-post. Eek. Saved in the nick of time thanks to my handy ninja mommy skills. Now let’s see if I can finish it with a wiggly diapered monster on my lap, grabbing my hands as I type and banging on the keyboardldkfjalsdjf.
If I had a rematch, I’d probably adjust the colors a bit on this second one. Love that Tula Pink in the top right corner but it feels a bit dark compared to the others. That’s what I get for making fabric decisions at midnight over a bowl of double dark chocolate chunk ice cream. Mildly distracting. Good thing I’m too lazy too busy to even think about redoing. Pretty much already guranteed a spot in the sampler quilt at this point unless I’ve literally sliced the block in half or spilled ink on it.
Know what else I learned last night? Bad things happen when jeans needles find themselves into my machine. Very bad things. Things like BANGING and KLONKING and PULLING and PUCKERING. This poor block somehow survived the ordeal, with just a few sad wrinkles that mostly ironed out. Bad, bad jeans needles! You are banned!
What makes it all better? Dandelions. Huge, huge dandelions.
