On My Bookshelf: Fat Quarter Style

August 15, 2014 18 Comments

Hi Friends!  I’m writing today to launch a series of posts I have in store for this upcoming month, and they’re all about BOOKS!  That’s right- it’s book season in quilty land, and there are some really excellent ones coming out.  I’ll be dedicating several posts in August and September to a few of my favorites, so keep your eyes peels for those.  So many fabulous books to pour over, and loads of amazing quilts- there aren’t enough hours in the day to sew what I want to sew this fall!

Fat Quarter Style 01

The first book I want to showcase is Fat Quarter Style, brought to you by the one and only Fat Quarter Shop!  I adore this new book for so many reasons….12 darling and timeless quilts, including 4 size options for every single quilt (yes, please!).  Where to even begin?  I want to make all of them!

Fat Quarter Style 04

I’ve stitched up a block from the Marquee quilt- how simple is this?  Such a quick block- just 2 little seams- and what a lovely geometric pattern it makes.  It’s so crisp and modern, and looks like a really great way to show off some favorite fabrics.

But that’s not the only quilt I love.  I really have my eye on  the Primrose quilt- the flower one with the grey background in the photo below.  AH!  I can think of a zillion and one fabrics I’d use to make some big fat flowers for my Primrose.  This one is definitely on my to-do list.

How about I give away a copy of Fat Quarter Style, right here, right now?  You want one?  Enter the raffle below, and I’ll draw a winner on Wednesday, 8/20/14.  Good luck!

It looks like a great book, I’ve been following the blog hop on this giveaway via FQS and love discovering new blogs to follow! Love the fabrics you’ve laid out for the Marque quilt – it’ll look fab when it’s finished!

This looks like my kind of quilt book! Beautiful quilts from fabrics from my stash and in the size I want to make without a whole lot of adjusting on my part to the pattern!

I’d try the raindrops quilt. It looks pretty simple and I’m just starting out in quilting.
