Surprise! A New Fabric Collection!

July 17, 2019 32 Comments

HELLO dear friends!!! Aaaahhhhhh! I’m just bursting to catch up here, and share some of what I’ve been up to these past months! Man, we are really in the thick of some exciting happenings here in the Gibson house…the joys and chaos that only heat, humidity, and 5 kids out of school can bring. Our little one is dazzling us with new words and phrases (and dining and dressing demands!) every day, and the older kids are full speed ahead in outdoor summer adventures (and really anything that involves the water hose!). These days are full and rich and lovely, and I can hardly believe that somewhere in the midst of so much going on in our house and in my heart, I get to announce my new new fabric line that’s just been released!!! How did this happen?!?  Happy daaaaaance!!

The collection is called Bungalow.  It’s my second with Windham Fabrics and will be shipping to stores in January, and it’s all about old house love…inspired by the peachy pink 1920 charmer we are grateful every day to call home. The smells, the sounds…even the cracks in the walls and the finicky doorknobs…it’s all character in my book, which is why I adore old homes!

These prints remind me of pretty wallpapered bedrooms, cozy linens on old fashioned iron beds, and fabulous art deco tile…and in some of my favorite juicy colors like fuschia, persimmon, mossy green, and perky periwinkle.

These past weeks and months have been an absolute FLURRY of lint flying in my sewing room!  I can’t wait to share these projects with you!  It was so tough to keep everything under wraps all summer with so much going on behind the scenes. I’ll post links to everything in the coming weeks as I share more details about the projects individually, but wanted to just give you a taste of what’s to come!

This quilt is probably my FAVORITE of all the projects and it’s called Snooze because I love beds!  I love making them up all puuuurdy, and then crawling in and staying under the covers for as long as humanly possible, or at least until I can smell fresh coffee brewing.  I’m also so excited that this new pattern will also be available as a kit!

This one’s Andromeda, because, you know, stars are my jam.

This one is called Thread Count.  It’s rainbowy goodness, and really quick to stitch up.

This one is Cherish….because there’s so much to cherish here!

Ruby is my most precocious model ever and we had such a sweet time taking pics together for the lookbook. Yes, I went a little crazy…

Of course I had to get all of the kiddos in on the action!  They are less willing to let me go to town with lengthy photo sessions though (especially when it’s 100 degrees and we’re both dripping in sweat). I’m so grateful that they put up with me, truly, because I’m the absolute worst at trying to find fun creative ways to help them pose…it’s more like me just wrinkling my nose and shouting “JUST TRY TO LOOK PLEASANT AND RELAXED!”  Sheesh.  They did so well though.

Lots more to share, but this post is getting long and I know you’ve got other things to do today!  Thanks for stopping by to take a peek and share in my happy dance!  It’s an exciting day and I’m so grateful to be able to share it with you! :)

XOXO                                                                                                                                                                                  Amy

Absolutely beautiful fabric and great patterns with which to use those fabrics. I wonder if I will be off my self-imposed “no buy” by January? Have to use my stash. Have to, have to, have to before adding more beautiful stuff.

Hope the line does well for you.

Love the thumb sucker – my granddaughter of probably similar age loves her thumb – so cute.

OMG! Somehow, I slipped off the radar, and just found my way back to your website! It’s been seven years since I first “met” you via Craftsy BOM 2012! Last I knew, you had the twins! Now it appears you have another sweet little daughter! I missed that adventure! I haven’t even done any quilting for four years, since my husband and I downsized to a small basement apartment of under 1500 sq. ft. from 3600 square feet! I’m trying to figure out a way to make a space to get back at it, as well as my newest hobby of making and decorating cakes and cookies.

Hi Amy, I see you haven’t posted in a while, but I wanted to say hello. I’m a pastor in the Arctic with three little girls of my own. I’ve been working through your Learn to Quilt classes on Bluprint/Craftsy, having lots of fun. Anyway, I hope you and yours are well, and thank you for sharing your teaching. God bless you!
