Ta-Da!

November 16, 2011 Leave a Comment

Remember all those annoying mentions I made this month of crazy top secret projects that I’ve been up to my eyeballs in? Well today’s the day. Yes, it’s been tedious but I finally reorganized the playlists on my iPod.

Oh yeah, and I’m the newest chef over at the Moda Bake Shop! Aw shucks, guys, I’m tickled pink! My recipe is a unique quilt-as-you-go cathedral window baby playmat using a single layer cake (including the back), and it requires no basting, no quilting, and no binding! Hop on over and take a peek!

Truly, becoming a Moda chef feels like a dream for me. Moda has such a special place my heart (and my stash). When I awoke from my craftless college-induced coma around 2004, and got back into quilting, I stumbled opon a darling little novelty called a jelly roll, and it was love at first sight. As a busy working mom, I was delighted to discover that, not only had fabrics gotten much cuter than I ever remembered, but I could now snag every fabric in a collection, with most of the cutting out of the way, and whip up a beautiful quilt in half the time. Moda’s precuts gave me the inspiration and confidence to get back into the hobby I’d so enjoyed as a young teen. Now, years later, with my skills much more refined and my tastes more ecclectic, I still adore few things as much as a sweet little charm pack, just waiting to be stitched into something lovely.

Thank you, Moda, I’m honored to have a spot in the Bake Shop!
