Glorious, glorious day today! One of those days where I get stuff done, my kids are angels (as angelic as kids can be), and had some precious moments with them that make me feel like I’m not completely screwing things up.
First things first: finished another pillow for my sofa- a wonky log cabin in some of my favorite cool-as-a-cucumber modern fabrics. Isn’t the fussy cut center a hoot? I think I’ll tell people it’s my mom’s college yearbook photo (hehe, kidding, it’s from a line called Ruby Star Rising by the ridiculously talented Melody Miller…you must check out her blog).
Aw, aren’t they cute together? If Brangelina were pillows, these would be them.
Um, next, I had a sudden burst of energy during nap time and whipped up a sweet little skirt for my lil love. The fabric is a vintage lawn cotton purchased by my mother, around 30 yrs ago, when she intended to make something for me out of it!!! Awww, never happened (fail!). Somewhere down the line I inherited the piece, and now it will become a slew of things, including this skirt.
You can find a tutorial for this skirt HERE on Anna Maria Horner’s blog…she calls it the “Flirting The Issue Skirt”, but my 3yo better not be doing any flirting in it!
The photo shoot for the skirt turned into a zucchini harvesting, berry picking, nap waking extravaganza, so I just kept on shooting as we giggled and had a time of it.
Oh no, my secret’s exposed! Remember, I’m perrrrrrfect! I can’t have you knowing I hide diapers and booster seats under my crib!
Yes, glorious day. Thankful to be Mommy.
