Another Monday, another block! Let’s jump into our next recipe!
It’s our first jump into curves! If this is your first time trying these units, not to worry- they’re pretty simple. You can follow the illustrations and tips in the book on page 151, and if you need even more of a visual demonstration, sign up for this free class and watch Lesson 11.
Can you believe that just six blocks in to the quilt along, you already have enough for a sampler, if you like, and use your future blocks on another. That’s right- you can make a sampler from six blocks– and not just a baby quilt — a biggie!

Full Scale Sampler Layout from The Quilt Block Cookbook
This quilt is called “Full Scale” for two reasons- first, it reminds me of notes on a musical scale, and second, because it’s enormous! 96” X 120” – perfect for a king sized bed!
I just love the symmetry of it…the chunky frames around each block, scattered across the quilt like beads on strings. And the solids can be anything….different shades of blues, or a variety of prints even. So many ways to interpret it!
Friends, if you’re just tuning in, you’ll need to pick up a copy of The Quilt Block Cookbook to join in and make these blocks along with us. As of January 2017, the book has officially sold out, but you can still find copies for sale from third party sellers on Amazon, and at likely at local quilt shops and bookstores in your area.
Well, that’s this week’s block! Happy stitching everyone!

I really dreaded this block because of the curves, but it was a lot easier than I expected!
Hi Amy – Just watched your video lesson 11 on Craftsy – curved and you suggested the Marti Michell Drunkards Path Templates for the curved blocks – I have that set of templates. Is one the correct size for this block? They make cutting so much easier.
Thanks – Love this book –
Lynn
Love this curved block. Following #cookbookquiltalong

I have the accuquilt cutter for the drunkards path 4 1/2″ block, but it’s different from the one in this block. Are all drunkards path blocks different?
The curved blocks would be the same templates as this weeks blocks.
