I got a couple of emails recently, from sweet folks pointing out that my life looks so idyllic, so perfect, even with four children in the house, including a pair of hungry newborns…how do I do it!? You know, you’ve got a point. My blog is packed with neatly stacked fabrics in color order, carefully arranged scones on vintage cake stands, and quiet sleeping babies in clean matching outfits…it’s heaven here in Dock Land! Really, it is. Perfectly perfect all the time.
Except for when it isn’t. :) So I thought it would be fun to post a few little slices of reality from this week.
For example, here’s our playroom. It always looks like this…
…except for when it looks like this.
And the food I cook? It always seems to look like this…
…except for when it looks like this.
Hmmm, and how about the garden? Well, it usually looks like this…
…except for when it looks like this…which I personally only think is enhanced by the strategically random mound of dirt in the background.
I could go on and on here, but you get the idea. Dock land is a real land with toothpaste on the mirrors, burned french fries, and kids who pick their nose and eat it.
Ahhh, life. Gotta love it. And picturesque or not, I do love sharing mine with you!
XO
You have no idea how much I LOVE THIS BLOG!!! Because this is a picture of a happy, crazy life we have all enjoyed…… sometimes endured! :) I told my daughter about you and yours and about the pictures of the children’s playroom…..the before and after and roared with laughter! My daughter has one feisty little red head daughter and I’m sure there will be more to come. Thanks for sharing! Sharon
