B stands for Boatload of Belle

May 21, 2013 15 Comments

What do you do when a great big box filled with yards and yards of gorgeous fabric lands on your doorstep?  You immediately unpack it, of course, so you can use the box to move some odd-shaped heirloom treasure…

Belle 04

Yes, yes, the box came in handy last month, but now it’s all about the fabric!  I’m so excited to have written several exclusive patterns for Craftsy using Amy Butler’s new release of the Belle collection for Westminster Fibers, which comes out in shops later this summer.

Holy stack of yumminess!  Ahhhh!

I can’t even tell you how much I especially love this print.  Ok, I guess I can.  I LOVE THIS PRINT!  That mossy green with the pretty pale blue leaves, and the folksy red and pink flowers- AH!  So me!  I want yards and yards for drapes, pillows, bags, and skirts…

Belle 03

Anyway, I’ve been cutting and stitching and pressing this yummy collection all month, and was so excited (and relieved!)  today to finally turn my patterns in.  Whew!  Done.  Couple of quilts and a garment actually…which is rare for me.  I never make garments.  Well, I guess that’s not true.  This one’s pieced so I suppose it could be considered a…mini quilt?  A wearable mini quilt sans quilting, batting, and binding?  Oh brother.  You’ll just have to wait and see.

So stay tuned for this gorgeous fabric line, and some new patterns as well (psssst, they’re free!), coming next month over on Craftsy.

XO

Ooohhhhhh! I am so excited to see those patterns!!! That fabric is beautiful…sigh! I love that antique clock, as well. I grew up in a family in which my parents were antique clock collectors. Boy, when the top of the hour hit, it was quite noisy in the house with all of the clocks chiming or bonging at once! Have a great day! :)

Oh, what a beautiful stack of fabric. It always seems everything is bigger in the US. Here it is all small pièces of, that I must admit, also beautiful fabric. Can’t wait to see what you made with them.

I have many of these prints from long ago that I have been hoarding. It will be intetesting to see if the colors are exact. I hope not. That makes mine more valuable. I plan on buying a few of the blue fabrics. Then i willake a quilt. Amy is my favorite designer and others lend their designs from her. She has done a lot for all of us.

the “i love this print!” print… yep, that print is basically what spawned my love of fabric, and my head-first plunge into quilting a few years back. i first saw it on a purse at tj maxx, which i bought for $16 and used until it died. t hen i somehow saw it randomly online, and the rest is history. i can’t WAIT to get my hands on some of that yardage!!!

Oh, Man! I’ve got 4 quilts in progress (2 ready for quilting & binding) and another 3 whip up before Christmas. Do I dare add this beautiful project?! Yes, because I am a Quiltaholic. I will just have to sneak the Craftsy package past my husband. LOL!
