Garden Party

May 18, 2011 Leave a Comment

Well, the girls’ birthday BBQ garden party was a success…uh, yeah, over a week ago and I’ve been so busy accomplishing nothing a ton, that I’m just getting around to posting pics. Between the stack of partially addressed thank you notes, 2 day old laundry mildewing in the washer, and overflowing grocery sacks of garbage at my back door because I can’t seem to get out to pick up kitchen trash bags…you’d think I had little gremlins following me around, destroying each room I attempt to clean, with impressive speed and stealth. Anyway, the party was a blast so I have to share.

The dirt pit garden area was a hit! Complete with kiddie digging tools, cutie fake bugs, and little jars of sunflower seeds to “plant.” Oh, and see that gorgeous green grass everyone’s relaxing on?? Layed it out MYSELF, 48 hrs before the party, under the blazing noon sun. Yes, poor Russ had to leave for class the minute the delivery truck arrived, so I rolled up my sleeves, broke a serious sweat, and laid 600 sf of sod in 1 hour, with a 3 year old following me around watering! Superwoman afternoon, for sure.

Still trying to figure out what to do with this masterpiece that the kids painted. Maybe it could fetch a few pennies in a charity auction? Or perhaps we’ll roll it down the aisle, red carpet style, at one of the girls’ weddings. Too much?

My dear, sweet, talented friend Ginny over at Tulah Avenue, made these unbelievable tutus for the girls…I completely forgot I’d mentioned monthes earlier how cool it would be to have some for their birthdays. Wow. They are absolutely magical!

My other crafty sweatheart mom-friend, Brooke of Teeter Totter Tot, made the girls these ultra funky, cute knit dresses! Aaaaaadorable! I’m so blessed to be surrounded by such unbelievably talented, wonderful friends!

K, fun show n’ tell time is over. Now back to that mildewy laundry…yay!
