Knock, Knock…Anybody Home?

November 10, 2011 Leave a Comment

Hi, yes, I’m still here! It’s me, Amy! Remember? I usually blog here…about quilts, fabric, kids, high-calorie pancakes…that is, unless I’m detained by a special little something I like to call life.

This week I’m a busy bee working on some super fun projects that I absolutely can’t wait to share with you. I mean, I could spill the beans now, but then I’d have to kill you. Just kidding, silly. They’d probably just make me break your legs.
Ok first off, some sweeties over at one of my favorite crafty goodness websites (luckily based right here in my mile high backyard) asked me to design a fun little patchwork project workshop (ie tutorial on muscle juice) for them, so I’m up to my eyeballs in that. Yay- my first design for sale! Who knew designing for the masses could be so thrilling…and so much work! I’ve officially received my black belt in Excel spreadsheeting, and am aaaaaalmost done editing my 692 step-by-step photos. Hoping it goes live within a week or two so I can commence jumping up and down, screaming, and then calmly suggesting you all check it out.

Ooh, also, I’m preparing to guest post another new quilt design on a certain unmentionable famous blog, with cute patterns from certain unmentionable bloggers….I’m certainly unmentionably excited for that!

When, oh when am I going to have time to catch up on the We Can Do It Sampler??

I put my block production on hold the week of the Sewing Summit, and have yet to crank out a new one. Meanwhile…the sampler marches on and now I’m so far behind, it’s seriously not cute. Think I can make four blocks in one evening? Scratch that- make it five. The log cabin in the top right corner has been driving me crazy since day one. I hate how it stands out from all the other blocks because of it’s dark border. Made that one first, before I decided I wanted mostly white backgrounds with pops of color. Poo.

PLUS, I’m a slacker and need to get my Modern Guild swap partner’s block in the mail, stat! I received my new block over a week ago- what a jerk am I?!

Apparently everyone knows something I don’t…that I have a son. Is it too late to ask for the rest of my blocks in red, orange, yellow, purple…get some kinda rainbow thing going on? Or should I just go with it and hope I have a little boy someday?

Alright kiddies. The babes are asleep so it’s time for my needle to fly! Bye for now!!!
