Musical Rooms Part 1: Sewing Studio

June 24, 2012 1 Comment

Where in the world has this month gone?!?! Between our twin euphoria, home improvement mania, weddings, and a heat wave, this is shaping up to be one very crazy summer! Hope you’re staying cool in whatever extreme weather is going on in your neck of the woods (can you sense a theme here? It’s been 100 degrees all week and I’m going bonkers).

Speaking of weather, there’s a storm blowin through this household and I think I’ve finally got it under control. Girls now sharing a room and in bunk bed heaven: check. Nursery coming together: check. Entire sewing room and office moved to the basement to make room for a playroom on the main level: HOLY TOLEDO!

Nothing makes you face your ungodly stash, head on, like uprooting and moving it all to another space in the house. I’m embarrassed at how many notions, patterns, books, and fabrics I ran across that I’d forgotten I even had! All nice and cozy now though, nestled in the far depths of the spider’s cove, I mean basement.

Char’s loading something sassy onto the frame.

I know, I know dear. Something needs to happen with that Botany yardage…it’s been tucked away FOREVER! I think I was going to use it for a backing…for a quilt I have no current plans of making. Yes, you can make your “QUIIIUWT” out of it. Sheesh. Calm down.

QUICK!!! Everyone freak out and write me a comment telling me it’s dangerous to let my toddler play with straight pins! Ok, whew. Never again.

Ok gotta run!! Can’t wait to pop on later this week and share pics of my brand new awesome boy x2 nursery, and the playroom! Ta ta for now!

XO

Oh my gosh!! I LOVE your sewing room. I need to get some decorating on my walls and add a few upper shelves. Really pretty and fresh.
