My New Quilt Along!

July 15, 2013 62 Comments

Ooooh, what an exciting day!  Remember those super secret Belle patterns I was working on last month?  They’ve arrived!  Well, at least the first one has.  I’m so thrilled to be hosting a new mystery quilt-along over on Craftsy!  Woohoo!  If you’re looking to dive into a summery, color-soaked quilt, I do hope you’ll join me!

QuiltAlong_640x300

So, what are the details?!  Well, here’s the scoop:

  • First off, materials are included!  Yup, there’s a stack of over 5 yards of gorgeous Amy Butler fabric just waiting for you!
  • The quilt-along starts August 1st, and if you sign up now, you’ll receive your materials lickity split.  Then when the quilt-along starts, you’ll get a reminder email letting you know it’s begun, so we can make it together!
  • The quilt is 60″ X 83″ and is a beginner-intermediate skill level (no paper piecing- I promise!).
  • Includes step-by-step photos and diagrams, AND the same wonderful interactive experience you had in the Craftsy Block of the Month- ask questions, get tips…I’ll be right there with you.

Oh I do hope you’ll join in!  I just adore the Craftsy community, and I think this quilt-along is a fun way to jump start some relaxed late summer sewing and get a pretty quilt made , but nothing fussy or stressful- just the way I like it!

Wishing you a fabulous week!

xo

—UPDATE—  The kits for the workshop have sold out, but you can still sign up to participate HERE.  Also, please check out THIS post with more details that help clarify exactly what this workshop is all about.  cheers!  xo

    Thanks.

How is a quilt along-different from a bom? How long will it take to have all the lessons?

Great questions- this quilt is not a sampler, or a series, so you can complete it as slowly or quickly as you like. The full pattern will be available from the very start, and folks can just ask questions, post pics, etc, as with all Craftsy classes and workshops. For those who sign up now, the Belle fabric is included, and those who want to use their own fabric can sign up Aug 1. Hope this helps clear up confusion!

By the way, your 2012 BOM class was my first effort into quilting and I loved it!

That sounds like it’ll be fun. Color me weird, but I’m not a big Amy Butler fan. I’m more Tanya Whelan and Lakehouse inclined. ;-) But, more than that, we will be in the throes of planning a big project – Lord willing, 4 weeks in Australia with my parents along for the trip – so I’m not thinking August will be a good month for extra projects. LOL :-) Hope you have a great time doing that one though! :-)

I’m in!!! Woo Hoo!! Your Craftsy BOM was my first real attempt @ a quilt. Despite moving 3 times selling our home of 23 years, an Estate Sale, building a condo, stuff in storage for 5 months, the constant was working on your BOM quilt whenever I could. I named it Metamorphosis, for it was such a transitional year. Thank you for giving this late to quilting, old woman such inspiration. I’m so looking forward to this once summer begins the wind down and we batten down the hatches for winter.

I was so excited to see your post on facebook about the workshop, especially since I recently commented I hope you’d do another BOM with Craftsy next year (I still do!). Your patterns and instructions have been so wonderful, I really look forward to this! Also, I’d been waffling about whether to buy the Belle fabrics, since I really want to splurge on the Simply Style fabrics… this was the perfect answer! Excited for August 1st!

I guess my only question about this is, is Craftsy shipping Belle fabric with the signup. They are notorious for sending out something different than what is described and it doesn’t actually say in there that Belle fabric will be shipped, it says inspired by Belle fabric. I’d love to sign up if it’s with Belle fabric guaranteed.

The tracking receipt I received from Craftsy for this class looks like this: 1x Custom Craftsy Quilt Top Kit (Amy Butler Belle)- so I’d say it’s safe to assume they are shipping Amy Butler Belle fabric.

It is strange that craftsy won’t let us at least enroll to the class even without the materials. I didn’t know they had classes that were one class/material bundle like that. Surely it will open up again when August starts. And maybe by that time they will have more fabric in stock. I really love the new belle line and would like to use it also.

They have a 24 print fat quarter bundle for $60.00. Just copy and paste the above link into your browser and it should come up. Good luck.
